Based on the SD post going FP, I'd say yes

I hate how Costco doesn't say if it's IPS or TN, as that makes a huge difference. Peeped the other CB Plus linked in the comments for $199 and that looks solid because a CB Plus requirement is 1080p IPS, so at least with the branding, we know it is a better panel. Side note: funny how it includes 1 year of McAfee when Chromebooks don't need it, like at all lol.

Yes, sometimes, but other times it goes FP on its own or it's trending that way and SD staff simply bump it early. With the number of comments, how quickly they commented it was a good deal, and how recent the comments are, I'd say the community thinks it's a great deal. I've been on SD a long time and nearly all of the time, it's possible to tell when a post has been moved FP and when it's been earned (or bumped up early but would have gone on its own).

It's definitely weird, and sometimes almost seems random. This particular post was my bad because I originally posted at the wrong price and got downvoted for that initially. I am convinced a touchscreen chromebook for $165 is a good deal. But I frequently see my posts start out in negative votes, even when they end up FP or Popular. Also seems that unless a post is on fire, a lot of time the "Popular" and "Frontpage" status gets switched overnight (in CST time zone, anyhow).Recently I posted something that didn't get much attention and then I saw my deal reposted 2 weeks after the original post in "Popular". I check my own post and saw that mods marked it expired even though the deal is still active. I know the mods are doing their jobs and that involves trying to handle a lot of volume so sometimes I see some weird outcomes. Definitely some things that get posted on here get "juiced" on the front end, but at the end of the day I keep an eye on SD when I shop to get an idea of whether something is a deal.

In real life I simply do not notice much of a difference. I have this and a I5 13th gen and I really do not notice any real difference even the updates work in a similar amount of time the I5 might be a bit faster but not noticable.

Now I do not game so perhaps games would work better with the I5.
