The main advantages of these open ear headphones is that they don't cover your ear canals, so you can hear your surroundings; this is also good for those who don't want to stuff earbuds into their ear canals. I also find that this style of open ear headphones (as opposed to the earbud ones) has a much better tendency of staying put when running.
The disadvantages are that these are not for audiophiles. The sounds won't be crystal clear, but that's a compromise I'm personally willing to make.
Before using Shokz, I used to use these Soundcore V20i [amazon.com], which are $25 right now (the lowest ever price might have been a few bucks cheaper). The ear loops do help in keeping them from falling off when running, but the main reason I switched was because I would sometimes knock them off myself when wiping sweat off my forehead.

The two sets of sony linkbuds I had died after 18 months each (due to being made to garbage sony non-longevity standards), but got me hooked on being able to hear openly while running outside. The openmoves feel better-made will likely be around for many years. I have no regrets at this price!
