People seem to like Red Mill a lot, but there are no commercially grown GMO oats, so if you are buying these for twice the price of Quaker only because of the non-GMO labeling, it's just marketing, as all commercial oats are non-GMO.

Quaker GLUTEN FREE oats are $29 for 4x24oz, so these are a good amount less than half the price right now.

These are comparable to Quaker old-fashioned, not the gluten-free. The gluten-free are quick-oats and not available in the larger sizes. While these Red Mill are more expensive than Quaker old-fashioned they are also gluten-free, whereas Quaker old-fashioned are not.

Red Mill quality tends to be consistent (and high) across the product range. The company is also employee owned (though through an ESOP, so indirect for management purposes). Quaker is owned by PepsiCo. For nominally equal money, I'm buying from an employee owned business rather than a corporate holder every single time.

"Pure oats are naturally gluten-free and suitable for most people with gluten-related disorders, such as celiac disease. But they may have traces of gluten, depending on where and how they were processed." -healthline.

Unless you're especially sensitive to gluten, as the article states, Quaker would be fine. Any gluten would come from cross-contamination through handling and/or processing. So if you're not in the 0.7% to 1% (Grok) of Americans with celiac disease, I consider it just more marketing.

But you're right, if you do have celiac disease or have some other issue with gluten, this is a good deal.

I generally agree, but I don't have celiac disease, I've always found Quaker Oats to be consistently good, and even at this discounted price it is still twice the price of what Quaker Oats are available for, which I don't find nominal.
