I'd prefer a slightly smaller footprint for some of the speakers. Other than that, this seems like a really good deal. No?
I've been using the S803's for my surrounds for years now and am happy with them. I set my parents up with the 809s and they sound good as well. The subwoofer is the only thing thats underwhelming, so I'd upgrade that. But $800 for this set is a good deal even if you take away the subwoofer.

1) Some sort of Atmos high mounted front speaker pair for 7.1 (don't try one sitting on the top of the towers to bounce it off the ceiling, they don't work well)
2) Upgrade subwoofer (maybe Klipsch R-12SW or Monoprice 12")
3) Upgrade center channel (the S83 occasionally appears here for $50 and would be a decent improvement over the S81)
Damn, wish I saw it during the PayPal 20% off.

Clarification, it wouldn't be 7.1, it would be a 5.1.2.
Whatever your main use would be, would likely determine the favored one imo.
