Wow that's an awesome deal. Rough opening is 30" which is considerably wider than the Louisville and Werner brands they sell at Lowe's and home Depot. Those are either 22.5 or 25.5 wide. It would be nice to see some reviews on these though

want bigger opening and installation? only $450 in labor cost

I mean it's not that much harder to install if bigger. I guess a bit heavier but it's not that bad.

I put one in last weekend and am doing 2 more over Xmas break at family's homes

Where you run into trouble is if you have a ceiling with engineered trusses.
If they weren't installed with enough space for a wider set of stairs, you're likely to have problems.

I've never replaced an attic stairs before. My ceiling height is just under 9 feet. Would this be too tall since the height for this is 10'4"?

You will want to double check but typically they are adjustable and will work up to 10'4. I installed a wooden fakro a couple of months back and cut the ladder to length. The metal ones I believe the last leg is adjustable up and down. The picture seems to indicate this as there are several holes and a set of bolts running through it.
