Run, do not walk to get these. This is the refurbished/used price territory for these. I wish I had a need for them. I have the step down model with no ANC (the WH-C500), and they are my favorite (also have Jabra 3 and Samsung Buds FE).

Great sound!
Great fit
Mid ANC, ok for casual use, or scenarios where you dont need to complete drown out sound (such as work)
I love that they still have a physical button for commands. Great for if you use gloves at work.

Do these suffer from the same battery drain issue as a lot of the other sony buds suffer? Both my OG linkbuds and linkbud S are pretty much trash as 1 bud no longer charges.

Right now, only Sony headphones work. The SONY eReader and mp3 player died prematurely a few years ago. The eReader costed a fortune in the past.

WF-C710N is on sale for $79 all over the place - so not sure why you are looking at the older generation of these. I have the WH-C510 like you. They are great and I wear them all the time, but for music they have their limits. I had Linkbuds S and the batteries died (well known issue) - but the step up in sound was incredible and noticeable. I think the WF-710 is a sweet spot for sound and value.
