The recall affects only the model BI-B41 (an older version of the slim 10,000mAh power bank with built-in USB-C cable).
It is limited to specific production batches sold on Amazon.com between August 2021 and April 2022.
• Affected units have serial numbers: 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, or 000L21 (printed on the back of the device).
The newer units are not affected.
This is a good price. I have this one for 14 months now and its going strong. Does not get hot.

Different model. The recalled model is BI-B41. The fact that the company has a recall gives me more confidence in them.

To clarify officially: this voluntary recall, conducted in cooperation with the U.S. CPSC, is strictly limited to the INIU BI-B41 model with specific serial numbers (000G21, 000H21, 000I21, 000L21) sold via Amazon US between August 2021 and April 2022. The ultra compact ones don't heat throttle output unless in extreme heat externally. That's why I sent my paw units back.

i think amazon sent out a blanket alert, regardless of serial number, and then updated it later. it's pretty off-putting if you're about to travel.
