I have both kits. while the kit looks like a clone, it isn't the same. The harbor freight kit, the plastic is way more stiff and rigid for the extensions. The hose is also harder and not as flexible as the rigid. I actually ended up returning the hf when I got it for 20 bucks last time.

Thanks for your opinion and comment. I need a hose to use as an extension, and simply cannot justify spending $50 on the Ridgid kit, but really need something flexible. I passed a HF location in my travels today and stopped in to pick it up, but I may end up returning it as well.

Edit: I looked on Home Depot's website- and the Ridgid kit is actually on sale right now (reduced to $30 from $50).

Thanks for this link. I actually purchased the Ridgid kit as well to compare (having not seen this video) and I agree- the hoses seemed identical in flexibility to me and the only difference I noted was that the Ridgid hose has the clasp and the Bauer doesn't. The hose in the Bauer kit that I have was indeed one foot longer than the Ridgid, so that's a plus. I did notice that the attachments that come with the HF Bauer kit have more weight to them, which I tend to associate with higher quality, but it's not necessarily always the case. These kits are so similar that I'm keeping the less expensive of the two (the Bauer kit, which cost me $10 less than the Ridgid, which I will return.)
