From the image it looks like it has an aluminum core for heat distribution. It does not seem to extend up the walls of the pan.

No. Impact bonded aluminum disc in the base only. Triply will have "mcp" part numbers(multiclad pro) or french tri ply line.

Kind of figured at this price it wouldn't be triply. Thanks for the info!

  • Impact-bonded base only: Aluminum encapsulation limited to the bottom—uneven sidewall heating and potential hot spots.
  • Prone to sticking: Food (especially eggs) sticks easily without perfect technique; no nonstick coating.
  • Very small size (8"): Too tiny for most meals or family cooking; limits versatility.
  • Risk of warping/staining: Can warp from thermal shock or develop discoloration over time.
  • Budget build: Thinner and less refined than fully clad premium options—good for the price, but not top-tier performance.
Overall, a decent cheap starter pan, but better fully clad alternatives exist for slightly more money.

Perfect size for one or two people. The cover for a 3QT sauce pan should work fine. Winco has a tri-ply for $23 on your favorite site. You'll have to learn how to get food to not stick regardless of brand and model if not using non-stick. Good luck!

this was buy one get one free in january of this year 2025.
buy one at $19.95 get another free.
which comes out to a price of $10 a pan.
so this is a lukewarm deal at best.
especially since most people don't know or won't learn how to cook on stainless steel pan.
however this is still a better deal than any other more expensive stainless steel pan.

For stainless steel you need to heat oil first until it's runny. Then tilt the pan around so it'd coat the bottom and the eggs won't stick If there are any bits that do, just soak for 10 minutes and it'll come right off.

Thanks for the tidbit. I use a tbsp of butter when I cook eggs, would that suffice?

Yeah that should be enough to coat the bottom of the pan. Just make sure the fats (butter/oil) is heated enough that it becomes less viscous and should be sliding around freely.

I have an 8" carbon steel, that after a couple of years of cooking bacon/steaks/over roasts i can use it easily to cook scrambled eggs that don't stick, and don't require a bunch of fat.

Little bit of time investment, but it's satisfying. I was using a cheap tfal in the meantime for egg before the carbon steel got up to par.
