Bought the small for my son. He loves it. Says it is VERY warm. 10 degrees here with 20 mph winds this morning.
Edit, we bought him this one. Also $24.99

Is it a real puffer jacket if it doesn't make you look like the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man?

The one you bought for your son is "heavyweight", whereas OPs is midweight. I suppose yours is warmer.

Bought a few of their thinner fleece jackets last year and the zipper failed on each one within a few months of light use. The teeth simply fall out and makes it really difficult to zip up without detaching.

The zipper on these looks identical to my failed zippers, but YMMV.

At no time has this jacket ever been close to a real price of $155. What a strange marketing tactic. 32 degrees is ok for the sale prices, don't expect anything super nice. The clothes get the job done and are pretty comfortable. Most of the stuff I get from them eventually pills, or looks worn out after a few washes. I will say the athletic shorts are going strong after many uses, and I ordered more as I like them. Their tshirts are thin but make decent undershirts for scrubs.

it pretty clearly says "comp value" on their site, with a nice explanation if you're really curious

This is a midweight jacket and good for layering in cold weather. On their website they have two other men's jackets that are heavyweight with over twice the polyester fill and about the same price. I don't recommend these jackets from 32 Degrees though. I purchased one last year and the zipper broke within a month. The replacement broke also! I wound up getting a similar jacket from Old Navy for around the same price and it's much better quality.

I bought a similar jacket (different style but the same brand) from Costco for like $29, and it is warm enough, but the quality is in question. I wear it when walking my dog and don't worry about the jacket getting torn or dirty.

Yeah...zippers are always the weak point ... i have so many that have failed on otherwise still good jackets and sweatshirts. Wish they would put a decent zipper in products. Very frustrating.
