Did a comparison with 2 friends, we all booked rides from same place to same place. I had the gift card credit, my other two friends did not. My fare was about 20 percent more than their fare. We tried it a few times, similar results. We would have wound up paying about the same overall .... I don't trust Uber pricing.

Oh no way, was it at costco one day only? Dang it missed it I guess!
Yeah it's back up to $80, so $5 difference. Still a better deal than this offer. There's a 14 day limit of max $200. Sometimes they cancel your order, sometimes they let you buy more if you try to bypass it.
I have found that once you put a gift card on your uber or uber eats you will no longer get promos. Same if you enable uber one.
This has not been my experience. I have Uber One and a $500+ credit balance on Uber currently and still regularly receive promos. Same through Postmates which you can use Uber credit to pay on.

My partner does not put any GC on their accounts and they would continue to get promos. This has been the case for many of my friends as well. There is less incentive for them to have you utilize an outstanding gift card balance (they get interest on cash already paid to them). And offer promos to users who do not have a gc to bring in additional new dollars.
I am not confirming or disconfirming the rumors around uber or DoorDash gift card balance.
If you are worried that you are not getting promotions because of your GC balance, just wait until you get a promotion and register the gift card one at a time right before you order.
if you worry that you get higher fare showing up due to outstanding gift card balance account, same do not register your gc and take a ride with your cc. You can register gc once your ride is complete and change your payment type to gc.
You can get at least 15-20% discount if you uses gc.
Yes Costco better deal, however, Costco has limit and then you have to wait. So this is great if you need something now until you're able to take advantage of Costco deal. Also, you have to factor in the price of a membership depending on how much you actually use the membership
If you have a primary and secondary user on your Costco membership each with their own login, you can do $200 per user, so $400 total, every 2 weeks, online. If you need more than $400 in credit per 2 weeks, then you may also buy in-store. If none of that fulfills your needs, then yes, this is a good additional deal to use.
Thanks, I already have a lot of Uber credits, got the last Costco deal. I don't want to get anywhere near a Costco store this close to Christmas. $85 + the 5% ($4.25), makes it about the same as Costco anyway. Happy to have the extra credits plus the extra Amex credits this month, now I need to actually order something to eat before the end of the month.
