Begging forgiveness in advance as my gaming desktop knowledge is limited. I was suggested the unit linked below in the past at a similar price point...and bought it. Was the unit from OP above a better option? Any feedback about the 2 desktops by comparison is appreciated.

It is not. No RT gaming is going to be about the same, RT would be 15-20% faster on Costco PC.

Thank you for responding. My intent wasn't to question OP's deal, and in all fairness, the unit i listed is $200 more...so not apples to apples in terms of price.

Again, thank you!

Wow that is a great price for a pre built that will allow you to game at 1440p max settings. Pair it with that wqhd acer monitor on eBay for $100 and you have yourself a modern gaming PC for under $1200.
You won't be able to set texture quality to high or ultra at 1440P with any 8GB GPU, with any recent AAA titles. They're all using more than 8GB these days, unless you set it lower. CPU and memory are excellent, but the GPU is meh. Either wait, or plan to sell the existing GPU on day 1, while it's still new. Swap it for a 16GB 9060 xt or 5060 ti (both have been on promotion a lot lately), and you'll be very happy. My guess is it'll cost an extra $150 after selling the existing GPU, but it'll get you max settings at 1440P for the next 5+ years.

The CPU is pretty good for this price, and the 32GB RAM is nice. The only downer is the RX 9060 XT which is again VRAM limited. It also doesn't have the feature set that Nvidia GPUs do since FSR 4 Redstone has only just been released. Maybe you can just keep the rest of the build and try and sell it for a card with at least 12GB. PSU is only 600W so you will need to swap that if going to a higher end card.

This is close to the best PC deal if we consider deals after the RAM surge and assume you will upgrade it. CPU is the main differentiator between this and other budget builds. Those typically have an APU like the 8700F which is OK but a few gens old in terms of gaming performance due to limited L3 Cache. This 9700X is current and worth about $300 by itself. Here's a PCPP build I specced similar to this. You save about $300 buying it here which is decent. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fqk7cx

If there was a way to get another $100 off like the Paypal deal it would have been a must buy. Now it's a good deal but worth considering whether you want to upgrade the GPU/PSU in the process to an ideal build.

you could get another 5% with best buy credit card, however Ibuypower is good company in my opinion,I bought pc 6 years ago from ibuypower trough bestbuy and over time I upgraded HD, memory, video card and power supply but CPU is still holding, really happy with ibuypower

A 16GB 9060 xt or 5060 ti should be fine for the next 5 years, but not at max settings. By the end they'll need to be on medium/low settings in new, graphically intensive games.
