performance wise 5070(12gb) is almost same as 3090(24gb). Only major differences is 5070 support DLSS 4 and is more power efficient with 4nm tech. Whereas 3090 has 12gb more vram.

My wife plays mobile games on PC... not very demanding but she plays 6 accounts at the same time on VMs... so GPU mem assuages sometimes passes 20GBs. The 3090 was a perfect solution

Ethereum mining ended September 15th, 2022. Most other crypto mining is being done with Antminers and other ASICs. Trying to mine with a 3090 results in a net loss of roughly 33 cents per day. https://www.nicehash.com/mining-hardware

ABOUT THE GPU:

If you are really into VR, this is supposed to be a fantastic card thanks to it's VRAM.

Lots of cyrpto can be 'mined' with GPUs. My GPU servers that I rent out on Vast is constantly being rented for mining. Given the rental rates, the renter is probably paying twice the price versus just buying it on an exchange. There are reasons to get the tokens by mining versus buying.

Just remember the word refurbished in this case means nothing. MAYBE they checked it to make sure it works but you are still working with older electronics that possibly could have had very heavy use.

Heavy use isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Plenty of crypto gpus have had second quiet lives as gaming gpus

I bought a 1080 zotac refurb years ago that's getting used in a buddy's gaming rig that he built for his kid. I replaced it with a 3060 ti at the time
