This Knorr chicken bouillon base is valued as a big, versatile seasoning for soups, stews, and even pre seasoning whole chickens. The coupon and Subscribe and Save stack drove prices down into the $5.63 to $8.85 range, with some orders landing around $7.34 or $5.91 after tax. It is also described as very salty and heavy on monosodium glutamate, which can matter for migraine prone households. Storage after opening may be an issue in humid conditions, and the large 7.9 pound tub may be more than many homes need.

Common Questions (5)

  • The price can drop to about $8.85 after Subscribe & Save and the coupon, and some orders went lower with stacked coupons and max S&S. Reported totals include $7.34, $5.91 with tax, and $5.63 with max S&S.

  • It is very high in sodium, with label-based estimates around 610-620 mg sodium per 3 g serving and roughly 20% sodium by weight. That makes it a concentrated seasoning, so a little goes a long way.

  • It may last about 2 years after opening depending on humidity, and vacuum sealing or desiccant packs can help keep it dry. The large bucket is also more practical if you use bouillon often for soups, stews, or seasoning chicken.

  • The coupon may appear on an Amazon Business account but not on a personal Amazon account. It also showed for an active Subscribe & Save subscription, where it could be clipped to add another unit.

  • Yes, it contains a large amount of monosodium glutamate/MSG. It tastes good, but it can be a migraine trigger for people who are sensitive to MSG.

Professional Chicken Flavor
hmmm
The "Professional" product is Knorr's classic formula. If you compare ingredient labels, you will see that the pro version has powdered chicken in it while the grocery store version does not.

I hope you have a vacuum sealer to store. Otherwise, depending on humidity. will last maybe 2 yrs after opening. Also somewhere between 850 to 1000 Tsp of salt in it. Which is about 19 to 20 cups of salt.
Great preservative...better than chemicals

I'm sure it would be fine with a few small desiccant packs inside. I use this stuff all the time to season whole chickens before freezing them. I can probably go through this in a few years possibly lol.

7$ for me with coupon and s&s, what a steal.

Good for a soup kitchen I suppose, but for most households it's too much. I would pay the 3¢ per ounce penalty and buy the same bouillon powder in a large jar from Sam's Club at their regular price https://www.samsclub.com/ip/Knorr...thena=trueIf you really want to go next level in a chicken base this Knorr liquid concentrated base (4 32oz bottles) is really good too. It's basically concentrated chicken broth and much closer to homemade tasting. It's also on sale right now https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004QLX3PS/ It's only 23¢ per ounce after coupon and max S&S. That's not bad for a premium product with an arguably more healthy list of ingredients: CHICKEN BROTH, SALT, SUGAR, YEAST EXTRACT, CHICKEN FAT, CORN STARCH, CITRIC ACID, NATURAL FLAVOR.The vegetarian base has a 30% off coupon too https://www.amazon.com/Knorr-Prof...B004QM0S1E
Thanks, I got 4 32oz bottles for 18.68 with subscribe and save after clipping two coupons.

That's 5 years worth of bouillon
I only use 3 cubes a year for the thanksgiving mashed potatoes so it'd be ~109 years worth for me.

That's why I like SD, I never heard of mashed potatoes from potatoes boiled in chicken broth. That's happening TONIGHT! 🤯

Mine came today, no seal. Should I be alarmed? Do people poison bouillon? 👀
