If there's two downsides to this particular set, they would be:
- The instructions for the brick elements aren't exactly at the LEGO level
- The plans can be a bit fragile, for both the brick and circuit elements (not unlike many of the 3D-type Snap Circuits sets)
Both of these challenges make this set better suited to an older kid who has already demonstrated some competency and enthusiasm for LEGO as well as the patience to accept builds that occasionally fall apart halfway through.I'd usually recommend Snap Circuits Arcade as the gold standard first Snap Circuits set.
