Ubisoft DRM is so bad on Steamdeck/Linux, I played about half of Far Cry Primal and then it broke for 2 years before magically working again.

i bought at $35 and would say it's worth $40 easily.

beautiful game, story is great, characters are compelling and lovable. Kay is confident but also imperfect and clumsy in a VERY Han Solo-esque way. the world feels more alive and lived-in than any other Star Wars game save maybe KOTOR — you really get a sense for what everyday life is like for regular people under the thumb of the Empire at its peak. lore callbacks are fantastic without feeling fanservicey or forced — I love that you can discover old Clone Wars-era stuff despite this being Empire-era.

rewards for exploration often justify exploring. discovering the location of collectibles and side quests and upgrade parts in this game is PERFECT — you learn about rumors just by overhearing conversations walking around town, which i wish more games did instead of forcing you to insert yourself into every conversation.

combat is mid. very early on, Kay grows out of feeling scrappy and becomes disbelievingly overpowered, esp vs Imperials, but it feels like a gameplay affordance rather than lore intentionality. factions are a neat idea but underbaked — would have been CRAZY good with the nemesis system. the overall gameplay loop gets a lil repetitive over time, but not so soon that i couldn't make it to the end of the game, mainly due to story investment.

not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. but absolutely underrated. i don't regret it in the slightest.

Definitely the lowest it has been on PC.

I just picked it up on Steam for $21. It's a fun game, but it wasn't worth $70 at launch.

I kind of hate buying things directly on Ubisoft Connect, and much prefer buying Ubisoft games on Steam. I got this game working on my ROG Ally with SteamOS, and managing the game from Ubisoft Connect is a pain vs SteamOS.

GOG seems to find and launch ubisoft bought games without any issues. At least Ubisoft get all the money this way.
GoG only allows DRM Free games on it's store. The big budget Ubisoft titles require account linking and Ubisoft Connect to run in the background. So unless Ubisoft removes that, it's not coming to GoG.

At these low prices, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Epic Game Store give one of these games away free during their holiday season Mystery Games Giveaway. I also wouldn't be surprised to see these games come to PC Gamepass next year.

I think they were talking about GOG Galaxy which is their launcher. You would still need the Ubisoft launcher installed for the game/s to work though.

Would like to get this but I feel it might show up in a humble choice bundle soon so I'm gonna hold i have a crazy back log of games as well.
Unlikely because non-Steam keys tend to get a lot of complaints the few times Humble Choice offers one. I can't remember the last time Humble Choice did a Uplay key and I can't see Ubi letting Humble Choice offer a Steam key.

I would have considered buying some of these games but there's no way I'm gonna have another game launcher with battlenet, steam, epic and the EA apps already clogging my system tray...

Yes - just used it twice in two separate transactions same account. Worked both times on avatar & outlaws.

100%, especially at this price. I bought it when it was released and JUST finally started playing it a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty obsessed.

I know it was pretty buggy and had some gameplay issues on release, but they fixed a lot of that stuff with a big update soon after release, and with another one this year I think. Now it's a lot of fun, without a lot of the annoying problems that frustrated and turned people off when it came out.

It's just important to know what kind of game it is. It's a stealthy game with some brief but fun action bits, which are mostly optional. But the completely open world is great, and has a lot of stuff I've always wanted from a Star Wars game. The story itself it's pretty light, but gives you some things to work towards.

At this price it's a no-brainer, even if you want to just jump in to explore the worlds, ride your speeder around, do some jobs, or even just play Sabacc... which can be kind of addictive - fair warning.

(I'll note that I'm seeing it on Ubisoft at the link for $22, not $11. But I'd say even that's well worth it.)

It's showing up as $22 for me - not sure why. But even then I'd say it's worth it. Curious about the difference though.

OP: the Far Cry 'silver' pack link is broken or incorrect.
