Ubisoft DRM is so bad on Steamdeck/Linux, I played about half of Far Cry Primal and then it broke for 2 years before magically working again.

Definitely the lowest it has been on PC.

I just picked it up on Steam for $21. It's a fun game, but it wasn't worth $70 at launch.

I kind of hate buying things directly on Ubisoft Connect, and much prefer buying Ubisoft games on Steam. I got this game working on my ROG Ally with SteamOS, and managing the game from Ubisoft Connect is a pain vs SteamOS.

I was about to buy AC: Shadows Limited Edition on PS5 for 35 physical or 45 digital, buy I will just go ahead and get it here, just wish I didn't have to use a separate launcher

Thanks for the input on SteamOS. I use bazzite and plan on staying away if it is a pain to get working there. I'll wait until it can be purchase directly from steam.

It's the same problem most non-Steam games have... When Ubisoft updates their launcher, it often breaks the non-Steam game, so you have to go into desktop mode to fix it. Ubisoft connect isn't super popular and has no native support with Heroic Launcher, but is supported by the Decky app, NonSteamLauncher. Still, I hate having to rely on a 3rd party utility like Decky, that breaks constantly. I'll stick with SteamOS native when possible, with Epic Games and GOG as decent alternatives.

Unable to add the base edition of Star Wars Outlaws to my cart. All other editions are available. Strange...

EDIT: Works on the webpage. Didn't work in the Ubisoft app.

GOG seems to find and launch ubisoft bought games without any issues. At least Ubisoft get all the money this way.
