I was thinking the same thing. While a very good deal for PLA, has anyone ever said... a 1K spool is just too much to mount on my printer, I'd much rather have 4 smaller spools for the same price. Seems like Sunlu probably made these for multi color packs and now has a big surplus.
Great price. Beats the price per gram on the 4 x 1kg deals from the other day. I wouldn't mind 4 mini rolls of really unique colors or rainbow filament, but not core colors like black and white.
I'm thinking that this might be preferred by people who don't print much. This way, the spools remain protected in their plastic bags for longer.
I print a lot... My use case for these is occurring right now... I've been printing a bunch of lithophanes as holiday gifts and using multiple printers to speed up the process. If I had smaller spools I wouldn't have to have multiple larger spools open at once. Lithos don't use a lot of filament and I'm not going to break up a larger roll. So right now I have three 1KG spools of the exact same white filament open, which is not my preference.

Especially for black and white. I can understand maybe not wanting fill spools of less needed colors, or to test out various filaments but how often are people only needing a tiny amount of black or white?
