this is a good deal. however you are paying $100 extra for 256GB as usual apple notorious price strategy if you can deal with 128G , spend $100 less and get this deal from target [target.com].

I tend to keep my iPads fairly long. The one thing that makes them slow and obsolete after a few years is always the fact that I'm running out of space. I think my next purchase will actually be the larger option. Might keep the iPad useful for longer and thus make up for the extra dollars. (And yes, I agree, it's a ripoff, but what isn't these days…)

if you upgrade your OS, apple makes your machine slower and slower, in order to sell you new one

BTW, if battery life lower than 80%, slower

If you're going for longevity, get the iPad Pro, not these Air models with a 60 Hz screen. You won't ever have to worry about slowing down.

You have clearly never had an iPad that has 1GB of space left and has come to a crawl making it basically useless. Not that you're wrong with aging processors, but the iPad definitely needs space for cache to operate efficiently.

I used to get regular iPads. Just recently went to Air. I'm not sure I want to spend iPad Pro kind of money.

iPad slowing performance over time and 60hz screens have absolutely nothing to do with each other... It's the system slowing down with planned obsolescence patches/updates over time, not the screen.
