I have not purchased this particular product but I don't want to recommend people new to bonsai purchase this. If you are interested in bonsai as a hobby, you will have a much better time buying an established young tree ('pre-bonsai') and shaping it into a bonsai tree with time. Lots of resources both online and many areas have bonsai clubs for in-person resources. These kits have low germination rates and some of these species will not survive as houseplants. Pines/Spruces need to experience winter outside as part of their lifecycle or they will die, and in the case of bonsai that means keeping them at controlled 30-40F temps for several months.

77 customer images in Amazon reviews, virtually no plant matter. A couple sprouts doing their best. Years if not decades from resembling bonsai

Bonsai's are hard even with a legitimate pre-bonsai plant as others have stated. This kit is cute, and if they re-purposed it for like easy to plant herbs like basil, I think people would have better success.
