Don't give anymore money to these crooks. They raised prices so much that over 30% of subscribers would have to full on cancel for them to lose any money. I have such a large library of unplayed games across multiple launchers on PC. They wont see another dime from me. ggdeals and just buy games at historical lows and save cash.

It's one of the better ones. Xbox kind of nerfed their Gamepass in the pursuit of revenue.

Can anyone confirm if these stack or do I have to wait for my current to expire before redeeming this?
I don't see anything saying they don't stack. They seem to be changing their conversion rate a few times but I'm pretty sure you still get a better amount if you don't have an active account.

I mean... if you are using deals like this and the conversion method it's not costing you $30. This would mean core is $5 a month and since 40 percent converts to gamepass ultimate that's $12 a month. I don't care if their retail price is $30 I'm never ever gonna pay that. I have had gamepass for 2.5 years now and it ends in half a year (all for $3.50 a month) and I likely won't be renewing because like you, I have other games I own... that doesn't make it a bad deal for someone who wants to play those games though.

Does anyone know if it's still possible to just buy cheaper overseas game pass codes from grey market sites and use VPN to add to your u.s. account? I think I bought game pass core 12mth for like $25 last Dec. Maybe those prices have gone up considerably too tho. Was just about to start looking for a GP essentials 12mth deal

Greedy as hell? So what do you call them when they were charging $1? The opposite of greedy? You're quick to criticize them but where is your PRAISE??? $1/month! Let's give it up for Microsoft!

As said before, game pass is not directed towards people that don't play video games. If you have that much of a backlog of games, don't sub. It's not really for casual gamers.

That's like having the highest priced cell phone data plan, but just using Wi-Fi 90% of the time. Totally unnecessary.

Game devs also raised their prices for AAA from $60 to $70+.. is Nintendo a bunch of crooks as well charging $80 for certain games? 🤭 Yup.

So.. should we pay around $60-$70 ($33 on various legit key websites) for 3 months of GPU, and have access to hundreds of games and day 1AAA titles, or buy one $70 game on PS or Nintendo?

This seems to be one of the few that actually understands. People whine and complain that GPU isn't "how it used to be". "They lured you in and then jacked up the prices!". It's called a business model, people. What do you think every other successful organization has done in the history of managing a business??

Remember when Uber and Lyft was subsidized by venture capitalists, and then they went public and had to turn a profit? Now it costs twice as much or more to use them.

Remember when MoviePass promised unlimited theater movies for $20/month and then they ran out of investments and couldn't sustain that business model and imploded?

Subscribe to GPU or don't, Microsoft doesn't care. Their gaming division has been subsidized by their Cloud and Computing divisions for years. It wasn't sustainable. They're hoping they have enough hooks in people to now turn a profit.

Basement dwellers here are just so vapid.

Some valid points here, but the pricing model for what you're getting just doesn't make sense to the average consumer. Piracy is easier than ever these days and Microsoft is really pushing price limits when everything is already a subscription.

Companies can do what they want and obviously need to make profit, but no one should be surprised when people vote with their wallets and don't subscribe to services that overprice and underdeliver.

I've been on Live/Gold/Ultimate for a LOOONG time (maybe 2010?) and when my last 3 year Ultimate pass expired in October that's it for me. I fold Microsoft - too rich for my blood to keep playing.

I've been with MS ultimate for almost 3 years. My subscription ends in January. I'm definitely not renewing with this new price hike. Screw you MS!

Once my current 3-year long GPU expires (I bought it back in a day from Turkey for $120 via VPN), I'm selling my XSS.

My xbox ultimate ran out, but I mainly just want to play the games I actually own like Minecraft, GTA 5, Tetris, etc. Is this now the bare minimum I need to play online with these games?
Yup, this is what you need to be able to play online and it does include some games. I believe it is more generous than it was in the past but don't expect any day one great games.
