Don't give anymore money to these crooks. They raised prices so much that over 30% of subscribers would have to full on cancel for them to lose any money. I have such a large library of unplayed games across multiple launchers on PC. They wont see another dime from me. ggdeals and just buy games at historical lows and save cash.

Absolutely agree. Ive had gamepass since it launched over 6 years ago but this was the last straw. My sub ends in 3 days and it ain getting renewed

It's one of the better ones. Xbox kind of nerfed their Gamepass in the pursuit of revenue.

You sure about that? It's supposed to convert at a 40% rate which should be 146 days.
Yes he was correct. What he was saying is if you don't have gamepass ultimate currently, you can convert this and you will get more (the 40%/146 days you are referring to). If you already have GPU, this will only add 91 days to your existing GPU.

Does anyone know how this applies if you only want PC game pass and not ultimate?
It doesn't. If you only want PC game pass then you have to get that specifically. Also note that they are about to change or have recently changed what you get access to with PC gamepass (I haven't looked at it in a while, sorry).

Anyone know what would happen if I added it now to my account that is currently on Ultimate but will be downgraded to Essentials on January 6? Should I let it convert first before redeeming?
Definitely

Hi,
I am hesitant about buying this only to find out that I need an actual Xbox controller. Can I just use a generic 8Bitdo controller?

Yes I did 3 years for around $120 when I got my Xbox and that expires next month 😒 I wish the cloud gaming was another tier if that's what is bringing the price up. I always download the games I play, tried the cloud a couple times and wasn't impressed (we have Spectrum 1gb down but only 35mb up, probably be better if we could get fiber).
The thing bringing the price up is that they were hemorrhaging money and they're trying to make it sustainable. I think they went about it terribly through. Rather than a gradual price increase, there was a sudden price hike. Now everyone, even people who weren't buying in discounts like we do here, is rethinking if they need the service.

On one hand I am surprised it lasted as long as it did at the price it did (and that it allowed conversion the way it did). On the other hand, I'm even more surprised they don't think this was going to lose a massive portion of their subscriber base.

so 60 dollars for 12 months of LIVE ... does it come with 50 games included, and you can play games you own on the service for multiplayer. Is this correct.

I ended my 3 years of Ultimate a few months ago, and to tell the truth, I wasn't even using my xbox during the last year or so. So my LIVE is over, but I had a couple of 360 games I can play by myself online, but not in multiplayer games online.

p.s. is my first paragraph correct? If not can you post what the deal includes.

You will get the best conversion rate if you let it end completely and then start a new subscription with basic and upgrade it to PC or ultimate.

Don't know about that. Just buy an Xbox controller. They're much less expensive than the Switch or PS controllers and they are in fact the best controllers out there, in terms of comfort, battery life, and compatibility. Not the best for longevity, but that's an issue with all three of the major console manufacturers.

so the cost for one year of essential is 62 dollars. (so about 5.16 dollars a month). That is with the 13 dollar code from newegg. I did buy one year just now. So, you have cloud, can play on pc, xbox, and other gaming systems, multiplayer, .... I posted the games in the post before this one.

I understand many had ultimate for a number of years, and got it cheap , like some of you guys did (I got those deals in the past too) . So 62 dollars for the year, ... and I only got one year. I will see what happens next year, let's discuss this. It was impulse buy for me! Smilie

While I agree with yall it sucks, GPU was so cheap when they released it. Could convert gold 1:1 so you got 3 years for like $100. We all knew this day was coming.

Sadly mine has ran out but I still want to play online with my friends so $60 for one year to do that, you cannot beat it. But hey, open to link for other deals if you have them.

Also buying games again sucks lol. Cashed in some microsoft points to get like $200 in giftcards so I did not feel the cash impact to buying games again.
Should have cashed the points into gamepass extensions, they were pretty cheap for a while.

Little help. Is this like the Xbox live? Buying for my son, and paying $9.99 a month now. Does this get him online like Xbox live? Thanks

They pretty much had to tbf. The costs were astronomically low for what it provided. They are just on par with the rest of industry now unfortunately. Xbox did a solid before. Now just another game company.
