I am hesitant about buying this only to find out that I need an actual Xbox controller. Can I just use a generic 8Bitdo controller?
Yes I did 3 years for around $120 when I got my Xbox and that expires next month 😒 I wish the cloud gaming was another tier if that's what is bringing the price up. I always download the games I play, tried the cloud a couple times and wasn't impressed (we have Spectrum 1gb down but only 35mb up, probably be better if we could get fiber).
On one hand I am surprised it lasted as long as it did at the price it did (and that it allowed conversion the way it did). On the other hand, I'm even more surprised they don't think this was going to lose a massive portion of their subscriber base.

I ended my 3 years of Ultimate a few months ago, and to tell the truth, I wasn't even using my xbox during the last year or so. So my LIVE is over, but I had a couple of 360 games I can play by myself online, but not in multiplayer games online.
p.s. is my first paragraph correct? If not can you post what the deal includes.
You will get the best conversion rate if you let it end completely and then start a new subscription with basic and upgrade it to PC or ultimate.

I understand many had ultimate for a number of years, and got it cheap , like some of you guys did (I got those deals in the past too) . So 62 dollars for the year, ... and I only got one year. I will see what happens next year, let's discuss this. It was impulse buy for me!
While I agree with yall it sucks, GPU was so cheap when they released it. Could convert gold 1:1 so you got 3 years for like $100. We all knew this day was coming.
Sadly mine has ran out but I still want to play online with my friends so $60 for one year to do that, you cannot beat it. But hey, open to link for other deals if you have them.
Also buying games again sucks lol. Cashed in some microsoft points to get like $200 in giftcards so I did not feel the cash impact to buying games again.
