I have this. Battery life is horrible. If you use max setting it will go dimmer in 30 seconds. I use this to go insect hunt with my kids at night for about 15 minutes. I have to charge every 2 days.

these look interesting as I'm looking for a replacement for a halogen setup I have however it seems most of these units aren't intended to "run" off of AC power continually?

It won't turn on when plugged into charger.
