No experience with this exact one but I did buy one off a deal a couple years ago. And I will say I would never do a mirror camera again. From my experience, the brightness of these screens cannot offset the brightness outside during the day, causing it to he hard to see out the "mirror". You end up having to press the power button to make It just be a normal mirror.

Same as you no experience with this exact one but in the 98% of the driving situations that don't have extreme brightness making the displayed camera image useless, it is very convenient to know exactly when my back bumper is in front of the front bumper of the car I'm trying to merge in front of in heavy traffic. Pressing the power button isn't a gargantuan task either. Sometimes it's better to have the regular mirror view most times I like the camera view.

The brightness issues aren't really related to the screen's brightness at all. What's happening is the reflective image (what you see when you turn the camera off and use it as a typical mirror) is overlapping with and washing out the video feed coming from the camera. What I've found works well is the use of anti-glare matte shields over the mirror. It's not perfect (there is a mild reduction in the camera feed image), but I'd much rather have a wide-angle view of my rear without any obstructions. With a 170-degree viewing angle, I have zero blind spots.

I would say this isn't a good choice because the rear camera lacks a Sony Starvis sensor which will cause using at night unbearable. Any light source behind you (specially headlights) will overpower the image at night, and you WILL ABSOLUTELY have to turn the camera off.

I recently switched from the regular "mirror" rear view camera mirror to an Azdome model, which does not use a reflective mirror. So you have to have the camera on to see an image (like a phone which doesn't have an image till you turn it on). Originaly didn't think I would like it (for instance when the car is off, I still glance at the mirror to see if anything is going on behind me) but now have gotten used to waiting a second for the mirror to turn on when I start the engine. There are also several built-in safety features (I especially appreciate the blind spot detection) which I didn't have in my previous mirrors -- note I have an older car without many of the current built-in safety features. You also have to be sure to turn down the light sensitivity at night, otherwise you will be overwhelmed by the glare of the cars behind you. For reference this is the one which I have (purchased last summer at a much lower price).
