I found a few points in the terms to be confusing, such as "complete a first-time purchase" and "can receive 20% cash back or up to 500 to 1600 PayPal Rewards Points". The "combined max of 80k rewards" seems to imply that it can be used on multiple purchases, and I thought the CB is granted in the form of reward points, but the wording suggests that those are two different things.

What I really want to know is if it would work on adding funds to my PlayStation account wallet, but I don't want to take the risk to test it.

The points are easy to deposit back into cash. Mine cleared from the previous 20% cashback bonus in like 2 weeks. Only seeing 20% cashback at sephora or Microsoft on my account.

No because it only works at digital stores and the PS Store doesn't sell consoles or any other hardware.

I had been waiting for someone to post about this, thought it was only me. Been chatting with customer service, they basically confirmed it's confusing on purpose.
"Each merchant has a set reward amount, but PayPal doesn't publicly list the exact value for each one in the terms. You will only know if once you made the purchase as it will be indicated in the email confirmation after purchase."
"How it Works ... complete a first-time purchase ... If you've shopped with any of said merchants through your PayPal account before, it won't count."
At least that's what they've told me.

Oh no, not this again.

Please observe the informal SD rule #1: Don't call.

Unless you are calling about personal details, there's nothing definitive you can learn about the promotion or the program.

Steam is not one of the listed merchants, unfortunately.
