I've got a 5000 line, but if I did it again, I would be more than happy with this one. Paid for itself by getting of Nespresso.

This is fully automatic, meaning you wont have to do anytbing except, refilling the beans and cleaning up the pucks AND the periodic maintenance. Having said that you might get a better shot of espresso using the Ninja or Breville since you can control a lot of factors thst go into making a good shot.

I'd agree with this.

I got one of these 3200 LatteGo machines last year when they had the $230 certified refurb deals.

It makes ok espresso. Definitely gotta put good decent beans in. Not garbage lavazza from amazon that are usually several months old. Go to Costco or Sams Club and find something with a recent date. Or local coffee shop beans. But the grouphead is plastic so it's only going to be so good.

It's a low maintenance machine. You can make 15 or so shots before you have clean the bottom drip pan or refill the hopper.

You definitely want to take the unit out the side every 2 months and clean the automatic assembly.

Otherwise if you just want basic espresso and don't want fuss it's fine. I got it because I have 3 kids and haven't had time to mess with my Breville 860XL as much as I'd like. It went into storage.

Having a milk frother is a good hack for making fluffy hot chocolate, which my daughter loves. You can make frothed milk with this machine if you hit the latte button and then press and hold the bean button for "add my own beans" and don't add any. Then make a latte and it'll steam the milk and you can take the cup away before it tries brewing.

Where do I put the hot chocolate powder ? In the latte go container ? Or do I make steamed milk first then I go and stir it in

I got this for the same price on the black friday deal. Set it up immediately and it never worked, it actually started spewing water out the back during the initial set up steps. Amazon didn't let me replace, only return. So, if you do buy this, make sure to test it out before the return window. Glad I didn't wait until xmas

If Nespresso normally satifies your coffee needs, you will like this machine as it will be an upgrade. If you are expecting good tasting espresso, quality extraction, efficient use of beans, speed, etc., I suggest you bump it up slightly to Ninja Luxe Pro. We bought the Philiips 3200 during BF and, even though it's OK, do not love it.

Also, don't wait for Amazon Resale's sale of this at $200 again, since a significant number of folks who received their supposed return/refurbished units came back to complain about the state of machines received. Anything less with this machine's experience, even at half the cost, would likely make your purchase an absolute failure.

The secret to smooth / not-chunky hot cocoa is put the powder in the cup and put a very tiny amount of milk in the cup, like a teaspooon or tablespoon. Very small, you should have way more power than milk.

Then use a spoon and mash the milk into the cocoa to make a paste. It'll be thick like toothpaste consistency. But you won't have clumps.

Then I just make a latte with the latte button with milk in the frother and press and hold the bean button to disable grinding beans and have the milk go into the cup with the cocoa and stir to mix. Once you've made the paste it'll readily mix with the frothed milk.

I've been using this machine every day for over five years, usually making five or more cups of coffee a day. It does need regular maintenance, but nothing complicated—mostly cleaning and occasional lubrication. This year the solenoid and gaskets finally failed. The replacement parts were about $80, and it took an hour or two to fix.

Got this model for same price last black Friday. Makes good espresso, but since this is my first espresso machine, I have nothing to compare it to. I will return it back, because all my attempts to brew pre-grinded coffee resulted in the just boiled water in my cup, and coffee failed directly to the garbage container. I followed the instructions to the letter, but still no luck. Maybe something wrong with just my machine... Also this model is discontinued by Philips.

Why didnt you order another at full price and return the broken one on that order? Its not like they record a serial number with each purchase.

To be honest, I had severe buyer's remorse after that. I probably would have just replaced it at the time, but I'm kind of glad I returned it. It didn't feel like a premium product once I got my hands on it. I didn't want to deter any one from getting this deal, I just wouldn't purchase it myself again.
