It's just sloppy photoshopping, showing holes and 'features' that don't exist in the actual product.
Just like the terrible adcopy: The described "single" is two jackstands, and the "2-pack" is actually FOUR Jackstands.

No their pin is to keep the parts from falling out when moving.
A safety pin locks in the teeth to add an extra hold to keep it from falling when being used.
The thing that bugs me is these come with a pin and all they had to do is add a extra slot to accept it as a extra safety hold. So could be much better IMO for just a little extra machining.

That is the older one. The pictures showing that are from 2024. The pictures from 2025 show it as its listed without a safety holding pin, only a moving/shipping holding pin.
