Q stands for quantum as in quantum dots.

It's literally the technology term and has nothing to do with looking like the word OLED.

Log in on ur EPP.
Watch this video https://www.samsung.com/us/tvs/vision-ai-tv/
Then click shop now and look for the tv. This will give you extra 10% off..
Those were the steps talking to a representative, or u can talk to them for the cart link with the 10% discount.

Thanks for the help I'll add this to the post. I watched this video a few days ago and didnt realize how to add that extra 10% discount.

Yeah it shows 584.99 for me on the product page. But if you are on an EPP and watched that Ad video and clicked shop now after, it will reduce when you add it to the cart

IMO they rebranded an existing, older technology to be called QLED, specifically because of the positive reviews of OLED during the years prior. I don't think anyone (Samsung marketing people) has come out and explicitly stated that this was the reason for the rebrand, but who wouldn't think (or more likely , 100% know) that was the reason?

It wasn't new tech - it was a rebrand. QLED "looks" and "sounds" more like OLED. OLED was getting rave reviews at the time.

Yeah, anyone can claim consumers should be more educated on the technologies but it's obvious "QLED" was chosen as the marketing term because it causes people to conflate the two technologies.

This is base qled tv in Samsung qled lineup with edgelit display. But for the price it is good tv. But don't expect any outstanding picture quality
