Select FILE YOUR TAXES at top of the Turbo Tax page then TURBO TAX DESKTOP under OTHER FILING OPTIONS. It should come up as $5 if you are eligible.

Amex has 20 off 40 which maybe better than the 30% chase offer.
dimsumkid5915I'm in PCG (barely trade) and 5 yrs ago I stopped getting the offer. Their qualifications don't include retirement/trust acct assets. To fix this, I was told to open a brokerage acct with $1. That fixed the problem. Last yr this stopped working and was told I needed to have a managed acct/rep (my rep got removed and never replaced). I was put in touch with a Wealth Mgmt Sr Relationship Mgr who had a level high enough to change my status and got a new rep on my acct. It took 2+ weeks, but my status changed. This yr, I automatically got the offer. Most reps below this level don't really know what the criteria is to qualify.
Prior to last year, I had gotten the offer for at least a decade (I was the one who typically started the yearly threads) I did not have a senior relationship manager when I was getting it, and she claimed to know nothing about the free TT until I told her about it. The new guy isn't senior, either, and told me that it had to be a managed account. Also, what status did he change? Just having him show up as your rep?

Confirmed that this works the same as previous years. I was able to purchase both the desktop version for $5, and go through the order confirmation section for the online version after adding states, so I have both available. I prefer the desktop version for calculations, but do the ultimate filing online because they have free state efile.

I'm seeing the free offer for Premier on my account. For the download version link, it took me to TT site. From there it defaulted to the $105 version of Premier. I had to select another product and saw an offer for same Premier version but for $5.00.
Premier
Recommended for:
Investments & rental property

list price of $105final price of $5*
Includes 5 federal e-files
Includes 1 state download
State e-file sold separately

I went and added that version and removed the $105 one.

Question is the $5.00 charge only for the download version of Premier vs if I opt for the Online version? $5.00 is not big deal, just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something Wink
Thanks I couldn't figure out how to get the $5 download until I saw your post. It tried to charge me $105. Repped!

Just attached their name to my acct and became my rep and it took about 2 weeks after that for the system to recognize this and the offer changed. I don't have a managed acct, I'm self managed.. To get to this level of rep, I called the 800 private client # and they have to put in a request to get someone that could become my rep as a self managed acct. I never see my rep as they're in another state.

Yes for $5. If you accidentally get the online version. You can still get it. It's in the small print towards the bottom on the right side.
HOWEVER if you are only presented the Ultra Mega Max Deluxe Super package for $105. You just have to play with digging through the available products until you get the normal Premiere Version.

It took me awhile to get to it.

It seems to be only the online version.
It was $69.30 for premier. I usually use deluxe.
Didn't seem like much of a deal but I don't usually buy premier, I get deluxe for <$40 on sale.
There's a lot of hoops to jump through to get to see the price, I hate that. Especially with Intuit involved.
Also on the TT screens, there's a Fidelity logo. Why?? I skeptical enough to think that if I take advantage of the offer, Fidelity gets my data. Yuck.
I've been using TT for 20 years. Maybe this is the year I stop using TT. 🤔

Not sure what you're complaining about. IF you choose Turbotax Intuit has your data and it's been this way since they required you to have an account with them to e-file. So You'd of run away if this was an issue about 6 years ago.

And then you say Fidelity. If Fidelity doesn't already have your financial information. They you're so screwed. They better have that informtion.

From Intuit FAQ: For TurboTax CD/Download purchases, once you've received an order confirmation for your purchase, follow these instructions to download your TurboTax software: 1. Go to Access my downloads and sign in with the same user ID you used to purchase your software 2. On Your TurboTax account, select the Downloads tab 3. Select the version you want to download and save it somewhere on your computer where you can find it

I will still have to buy the state I fear. $36.75 + $39

Is this a better deal than the amazon/Costco price on Jan 19?
Not that I can see. On the TT website Premier is $78.75 and on the Costco website Premier is $82.99 today. Costco should have at least $10 off that on 1/19

I know its early, but if we end up getting a download version and then not need it, is there any chance the license code is tied to an account/email address and is truly non transferrable?

Last year, you still had to login to your Intuit account even when activating with the key. I doubt it'd have changed this year.

Good info, thanks. But then, would it raise any flags if the email associated with the Intuit account (which has no use or data other than for this Turbotax transaction), could be updated to another email address?

Didn't get it again this year, after receiving it for over a decade before it stopped last year (in fact, I was usually the one who started this thread). I'm still Private Client Group, but my rep changed last year and I do not have a managed account. I spoke to my new rep last year, and he told me that his understanding was it was only for managed clients (even though I'd never been one and got it). I got him to give me some money to buy it myself, but I had agreed to talk to him about giving them some money to manage and never did. So I expect that I'm not going to be able to convince him to pay for it again this year.
Not sure how they choose who gets it.

I've got 7 figures in brokerage and tax sheltered, had a PCGM and stopped getting the free SW like 4 years ago. I switched to HR and may go with taxfree going forward.

Also keep all my new money in a different brokerage house, stupid on their end as they're easily loosing thousands annually from their cheapness.

Yay, free is live again. For the datapoint, I have no managed services with Fidelity, but I do have a brokerage account among other accounts (HSA, Cash Management, IRA).

If anyone else wants to contribute some interesting data, using your browser F12 tools, go into the site source of your Fidelity dashboard where the offer shows, and hit ctrl+F to search for "Acclimated/Promo/MandO", and copy the offer name that comes after that text. Should be something like TurbotaxHP2026MNO, TurbotaxHV2026MNO, TurbotaxfreeOfferHNWPS.

Along with that offer name, include some info if you're comfortable with it like what type of accounts you have (brokerage, HSA, 401K, IRA, etc.), whether your account is marked Premium Services, whether you have buckets of money (lol).

Eventually we may actually be able to figure out what qualifies one for these deals, though it does seem to change every year.
