I can confirm. I have very similar ones. The battery life is not as good though it might die in 4 to 8 months instead of 1+ year.
It works with Apple find my, but it does not have precision finding where it will point an arrow when you're a few feet away.

This is a 4 pack. Or, where do you get an AirTag for $6.25? You better post that deal here!

It works pretty similarly, although it lacks precise geo positioning that the airtags have. It's still pretty good though

does this work if you dont have an apple product?
Yes it will still work. But since you don't have an Apple product (iphone or ipad) there is no way to set it up or no way to Find it. So not sure why you would need it.

Doesn't look like it has UWB, but at this price, ordering a shit ton for an upcoming move could be the play. One in each box and you've got a way more cost effective plan for box level tracking.

There's a 10$ certificate for members that brings these down to 3$

I've been buying these over AirTags since the new ones are coming. I'd wait for the new AirTags for your most important items.

3rd party Airtag? Is it functionally the same at a lower price?
Works the same, except no precision finding.
I bought a few from aliexpress and the battery also does not last as long (usually 6 months) and sometimes (usually then the battery is low) the airtag looses sync with your phone and you get a message that an unknown tag is tracking you (but it's just your tag that needs a batter replacement or reboot...)

Do you think that has more to do with the supplied battery? I'd be curious to see if say an Energizer, or Duracell option extends the battery life.

I put AirTags in our suitcases when we travel - in this scenario, you only really need to know if it's in the right airport when you land so these might be a good alternative.

I wonder why this is. Because I thought it used the person's iphone to geo position and just relay the information.

It doesn't have UWB, so precise locating isn't available. Nothing other than air tags do, as far as I recall. This is good for "did I leave this at home or work?" and not good for "did I put this in the kitchen or the bedroom?".

These look larger than airtags, right? I've been wanting to put one on my ebike and they have tons of holders for real air tags.... these aren't the same small size are they?

I think he's referring to UWB - which allows location with precision of less than a foot. All tags like this operate via Bluetooth using the find my network which leverages the location of the phone's GPS (rather then the item itself, which doesn't have GPS).
