I have the regular speaker (not the one with base) and it's great...I wonder how much the base makes a difference. I'm not a fan of Samsung TV's sound so this makes it much easier to hear the audio.

We have the streambar pro, initially without the sub. It sounded great. But adding the sub filled in that low end just right. Even if you are not a fan of shaking walls, a separate sub will always fill in that low end nicely.

Wow. This is a fantastic deal. I have the streambar (no sub) and it is snappy and sounds great for its small size. Perfect for my office.

I just received an email from Roku saying they had a bunch of trial subscriptions starting at 99 cents. https://www.roku.com/whats-on/sub...onsSavings

Looks like you can get 3 months of AppleTV for Free. Maybe it's targeted?

Before you order one of these do a little research on how Roku harvests your personal data, including multiple screenshots sent to the mother ship per minute. If you are all concerned about your privacy consider getting a (more expensive) NVidea Shield. It includes 4K up-scaling and the Pro version has a Plex server built in.

We cancelled my 94 YO Mom's cable, then cancelled her Satellite and switched her to 100% streaming last year.
I bought her a 55" TCL TV & she mastered the Roku OS within a week. Her bedroom TV had a different OS and she was having problems using it. My Son suggested getting her the Roku soundbar for that second TV. Picked one up at Walmart, installed it & she LOVES it. Looks exactly like the OS interface on her main TV.

Edit: For older people, be sure to set the sound to dialog if you are hard of hearing. It's not as good as a ZVOX soundbar for dialog, but it does help a lot.

Does this require a Roku Stick or is it built in?

This isn't unique to Roku devices - pretty much any Chinese brand (Hisense, TCL, etc) do the same across many of their TV lines. This goes far beyond simply harvesting ACR data. Roku is most likely just harvesting ACR data (which still isn't great) where-as Hisense, TCL and many other Chinese rando-named brands do full audio and camera capture from the TV that is facing you, your family and the inside of your home.
It's nice to see that Roku built these to be able to pair with any brand/make. Their original Roku speakers (which sound absolutely fantastic) would only pair with a Roku TV.

No Dolby Vision on the soundbar, which is a letdown. However, if your tv doesn't support that, obviously, no big deal.

This deal looks pretty, um, slick. I just ordered one to complete my wife's Christmas list. It is exactly what she needs.

I wouldnt get anything from Roku. They had an issue with data leaks with the TV and before going public they updated the arbitration language in the ToU and forced people to accept in order to keep using the TVs.
Horrible company.

Really great deal -- I have 2 of these and they add great sound. The price is impressive with the added subwoofer.

As far as data harvesting goes, I'm sorry to tell you this but your data is available for purchase on the dark web as well as through more "legitimate" means. The only way you can avoid having your data harvested is to build a Time Machine and go back 50 years.

No one on this planet is immune from big tech/spy agencies/hackers.
