This thing is particularly useful if you travel a lot by plane. I have the other brand without a display and it has been a hassle to connect. Every connection is like a wild guess

Does this work on my Rav4, 2011 model, which does not have an option to connect my cell?
As long as you have a 3.5 mm aux input on your stereo, it should work for the audio out. It will still use the mic from your phone for hands free.

I've got this and an AirFly Duo. I find they work fairly similarly and I do prefer that this has a small screen. I think they're both quality devices and they both fit in my Bose case, so they both fly with me all the time. I just use whichever one is charged and I always have one at the ready.

I have the "Mini" version of this from a previous deal. My experience may not apply, but dropping my 2 cents here regardless. They work pretty well once you get them connected, though I have two points of contention.
  1. Getting headphones connected can be unreliable. Eventually I figured out that it's much more reliable if you literally hold the headphones against the receiver while connecting.
  2. Volume controls threw me off a little. Volume on the receiver and the headphones is shared, while Aux source volume is separate. Personally, I decided to crank the source volume to max so I can fully adjust via the receiver or headphones. Completely makes sense, but it may be confusing if you aren't expecting it.

I'm wondering the same. I hate how airlines don't have Bluetooth and you have to use their crappy headphones. I'm probably going to pick one up just because. Maybe 2, so the wife isn't left out.
The entertainment screens have all had Bluetooth the last few years for me. That said, I bring the optional cord for my Bose over ear headphones just in case.

I have this and it worked as expected on my long flight to Doha. Great price.

I need something to allow me to use my non-bluetooth headphones with my new TV, which unfortunately has no headphone jack. Would this work as a bluetooth receiver for my purposes? I bought a cheaper one and it's ok, but could use improvement.
It says it's a transmitter and receiver so yes.

is this good for a car to stream audio too or are there better options if my sole purpose is for the car?

Doesn't seem to be worth it. Pretty deceptive for trying to copy AirFlys product and even name. Reviews aren't great. Apparently they break and stop pairing after just a few months. One even says "just get an air fly" considering these aren't really cheap anyways. And you're only saving half.

Now AirFlys I can vouch for. If you have a long trip those with air pod pros are absolutely amazing. I took a 20 hour flight a couple of years ago with that pairing and it just worked perfectly. Never dropped connection. Battery lasted the whole flight. I didn't have to worry about messing with wires. And the air pod pro pass through feature was perfect. Could speak with people without having to pull them out and go back to the movie and ANC seamlessly
Good catch! I thought this was the newer model of the airfly. I never know which button is paired to what headset so I thought the display was the upgrade but would reduce battery.

I have this type of Bluetooth device, but I don't use it on flights. I mainly bring it for tours—especially in Europe—where they give you a radio receiver with a disposable wired earphone. Those wired earphones never fit my ear well, and sound quality isn't really important in that context. Some tours or museums even charge for the device, so my wife and I can just share one receiver without paying extra while still using the earphones we prefer.

I think I'll check it out and compare the two and send back the lesser one. Thanks

Probably would work- check what kind of audio-out jack your TV has.
