Seems like a pretty solid deal. I ordered it yesterday and it's already shipped. I'm just getting as a backup and to take for occasional tailgates and such so I didn't need anything too special.

Updated, though mostly would've expected that to be apparent.
Recent post of same model but gas only for $350 didn't mention it, either.

Love to see side by side comparisons to this type of model vs it's Honda counterpart. I mean I'd buy this thing if it was $700 and come close to it's $1200 Honda similarity. I get it lot of these gens have Chinese motor replicas. I've got one. 10k dual fuel gen. It's served me well prob 200 hrs on it but I've also catered to it like it's a newborn infant my cousin has a 3300 watt honda inverter gen that I know he hasn't changed the oil on it in 8 yrs and we've put close to 1k hrs on it just on the farm that mf starts first pull everytime like clockwork

I did a fair bit of digging into reviews, this seems to be one of the better cheap brands…I didn't run in to any consistently bad reviews for it.
I have a Duromax 12.5k that has served well, but I converted from propane to NG, so wanted another decent sized one that could use propane, and easier to haul (Duromax is like 230 pounds).
will see how it goes!
Hondas are amazing, have their quads and mopeds from the 80s, but usually only run a gen a couple times a year so don't need to spend a ton.

I like the dual fuel aspect. I have bad "luck" with carbs.

Sane I have the DuroMax 10k. It's loud and heavy but it'll run my whole house easy. I use it to run 6 grain bin fans simultaneously when needed And like you I still have my 93 and 95 Honda fourtrax my parents bought me and my brother. Still running strong.

'87 Fourtrax bought 5 years ago from original owner!
my Duromax is a beast, I converted to natural gas, but I need to upgrade my line for it as it's at the end of the run and smaller pipes so it's probably only running around 5000W or so.

It is still showing up as an option to ship for me. Mine is set to deliver today so it was far inside of the original delivery estimate of January 2.

I run mine off gas but have a 100lb propane tank just in case of a long duration. Did the whole break in process. Now run full synthetic 0-20w mobile 1 oil.

It's funny, I basically bought this so that I'd have a use for my 100 lb propane tank that I got off of here last year lol. Also just bought an upgraded solar generator and large backup LIFEPO battery for backup. Lots of electricity options!

Interesting. When digging for information on amazon page, indeed model number listed under item details is HB5040DC - that is the closed frame unit you actually received. I wonder if they ship the closed frame model for all those purchases as it is the model number mentioned on the page, even that it totally does not match picture and description.
