The fanboys who had to get one already got one. This fanboy sales of 15-20 million sales was bound to happen no matter what. This was very evident in the 1st 3 month sales numbers. Earlier families that bought previous consoles were pushed out of buying power by the steep price increase. From 200/300 to 500 is steep. Games costing 80 n 90 is way too high when families are struggling to put food on the table. Others who value money are waiting for the price to drop considerably. These 50 or 100 cuts will not work unless it goes back to S1 release prices. Not everyone is going to pay 500 for outdated S2 specs to play just first party titles which are not many. For 3rd party titles they have ps5 n Xbox to run it better. Lack of exclusive titles n repeated rerelease of older titles are not helping with major sales. Not everyone has the time n money to spend on what they've already did.
Lack of chart bursting holiday sales for a newly released console is a big concern. Sales numbers falling heavily behind ps5 that was released 5 years ago gives the real picture. Nintendo's problems are only going to get worse with increasing memory prices, game key card debacle, greedy dlc pricing for unreleased games n share holders pressure for lacklustre showing. This is what happens when you replace people like Iwata who developed games as a passion with greedy money making business men. Nintendo really needs a reality check.
I think they will have to choose 1 of the 3 options..
1. Take a hit in profit by reducing the price to 300 or 350 to increase console sales and continue to make money on game releases. If console doesn't sell, then games don't sell. And reducing price should not be a concern for a billion dollar corporation like Nintendo
2. Wait it out a few years holding on to current prices even if the sales are low n see if the economy improves so many could buy the consoles again. Games sales will be poor as well with this option
3. Release exclusive Mario/Zelda titles that are a huge hit that boosts the console sales. This could take a few more years at the very least. Metroid n Pokemon releases seemed rushed n people have mixed feelings on these
Just my 2 cents.. you have every right to have your own opinion 👍
Great deal, especially considering they're getting rid of the Mario Kart world bundle. It's a huge improvement over the switch 1, especially for people like me who haven't played all of the games and can take advantage of the 60 FPS patches on many games.

Reports suggest Nintendo is ending this bundle soon due to poor sales. This is unfortunate as Nintendo used manipulative marketing to suggest the Switch 2 was the best selling console of all time by using language like "fastest selling", which is objectively false. Nintendo stocks continue to plummet as they use this as a last ditch effort to maintain the dwindling confidence in their investors.

Well at least we got an extra 20% off this deal through PayPal when that was running lol.

There are not poor sales. The Switch 2 is the fastest selling console ever. It is not objectively false. Where is your evidence to suggest that it is?
Nintendo may be ending the bundle, but that's nothing new. They had several limited edition bundles for the Switch 1 and that is the best selling console of all time, so again, you really don't seem to know what you're talking about.
Nintendo seems to be in a much healthier spot than either Microsoft or Sony. In November, Xbox unit sales were down 70% compared to a year ago. PS5 was down over 40%! Switch 1 & 2 were down only 10%, and that slight decrease is clearly due to the strong sales of the Switch 2 in November. Sony sold slightly more in November, but they were having a fire sale. Their consoles were dirt cheap everywhere. Sony is still having heavy sales in December so their numbers must not be looking good. The whole industry is struggling, but Nintendo seems to be better prepared. With tariffs and with Nvidia focusing on AI, Nintendo may need to increase the price in 2026, but they stocked up well enough that they can hold off for a bit.
What was the selling point for you with the Switch 2? If you're not sure which Switch 1 games you might like, I recommend checking your local library for games. If you like 3D Mario, Mario Odyssey is a great game. Also, I never pay retail price for Nintendo games. Sometimes, I can find decent prices on eBay.
Simply missed playing Mario games and loves the Wii sports. I haven't owned a console since and with the good reviews, I decided to try it. Perhaps it my age and simply not into games? I'll try your suggestions. I want to like it but it's collecting dust unused for 7 days already

The console wasn't on sale during black friday in a bad economy so of course they didn't fly off shelves during that period. Nintendo won't reduce prices further than $50 because Switch 1 editions of the new games still exist. Why would Nintendo give up $50 to make $10. People who are concerned about cost aren't going to buy 2 games at once either.
Comparisons against PS5 and Xbox arent correct because they are in different stages of the console's lifecycle. And the gimmick of being a handheld outweighs the performance difference.
Switch 2 will remain the cheaper alternative among the major consoles even through the memory shortage.

It wasn't on sale BF but there was certainly a "soft sale" 20% off via the price club FP deals. You don't leave a console exposed to gift card discounting in the eShop by "accident". Nintendo knew what it was doing!

lol what are you talking about. Costco has sold discounted Nintendo gift cards for years. This is not a new thing that Nintendo forced to Costco and Sam's Club in order to get more switch 2 sales. lol go touch grass
I bought mine at release and it was most certainly a scratch off code. Has this changed?
Edit: Seems like if it has a sticker on the box saying World Tour included then it's a scratch off. If it has an actual image on the bottom like these seem to have, then it's tied to the console and can't be sold

There were 2 different versions of the console at launch as explained in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vigC5uEarTk
The version with the sticker on the retail box (I'm guessing that's what you got) I haven't seen since launch. I think Nintendo did that as a means to have more units ready as bundles. The Mario Kart bundle which is printed on the retail box is the only one I've seen for months.
