Really nice deals, lowest prices these have ever been AFAIK. And this is probably the last batch of M4 Pros available in retail before M5 models take over.

Unless you really need 120Hz display support via the Thunderbolt port, I'd recommend the M4. I realize there is more RAM (12GB vs. 8GB in M4), but I haven't seen any side-by-side comparisons that show any meaningful performance differences. iPadOS has always been great with RAM, there are iPads running iPadOS26 today that only have 3GB of RAM.

Especially if you need (or might need) 5G connectivity, the ~$400 savings over M5 is pretty substantial IMO. Save that $400 toward a new M7 iPad in a few years ha.

On the 256/512, it goes from 8GB on M4 to 12GB on M5.
for 1TB/2TB, both M4 and M5 have 16GB.

When did we accept paying almost a thousand dollars for an iPad. These should be in $500 range, apple's pricing is criminal

I have an M3 Air in addition to M4 iPad Pro. Different tools for different jobs...
Would you mind sharing your use cases for each? I'd have thought the main difference would be the screen/weight, but overall capability would be the same

USB C port vs Thunderbolt 4. 4 times faster transfers for external drives

MacBook Air for extended typing, or if you really want to do heavy MS Office work especially with external monitor.

iPad Pro w/keyboard for couch surfing, drawing, reading Kindle, and definitely for traveling. You don't have to put it away during flight takeoffs and landings, and the 5G is nice and won't sap your iPhone batter because it's being used to tether.

All the machines being discussed in this thread (iPad Pro M4/M5, MacBook Air) have Thunderbolt functionality via USB-C connectivity.

Great deal. I got the 13 with cellular for $899 and $0 next day shipping. M5 price premium does not seem worth it. I also got. 3rd party keyboard case that works really well.

Only if Apple didn't gimp the device with not allowing macOS on their very capable pro tablets, I would buy one for each of my family.

Doesn't stage manager give it desktop feeling? I've never used a modern ipad so just asking.

Not exactly, more like desktop-lite. It lets you have windows side-by-by It's useful and intuitive

Anyone get the one with nano texture? Insane deals but pro and con comments. I'm constantly reading on mine, but no need for a pencil or anything needing high RAM or storage. the glare on my M4 standard glass really bothers my eyes.
