How big is she and how big are her fingers? 17 is old for a junior guitar unless she's small (short, short fingers, weak for weight). $50 is an excellent price but it's not rare to see it on Amazon. Don't expect the guitar to last but for $50 this is fair and it says it's full wood so I would throw it in the car and leave it there no problems unless it's super hot or super cold. If she's a full size adult with longer fingers I would suggest a thin acoustic guitar with nylon strings (yes more expensive $300-400 probably). Don't buy a dreadnaught or full size box that's how you frustrate people.

No. Yamaha makes a not terrible 3/4 acoustic, but your best option is probably a lightly used Seagull S6 or something for like $300. A cheap electric can sound good with a decent amp, but acoustics actually need to be built properly.

Let's be realistic. Most people getting a guitar like this don't care about how it sounds. They want to explore a potential hobby. They'll get it and practice off and on for a few months and then it'll collect dust in the corner on the off chance that they like playing and are decent and want to continue pursuing it, THEN is when you drop the decent money for something better. 90% of people who begin learning guitar abandon it within a year.
