a good tool at a good price - you just have to ignore that some lucky people were getting it for $20 on Nov 24

šŸ˜‚ Speed running the cringe marathon? Good price nonetheless. What other beans do you have to spill that no one asked for?

90% joking.

12V Skil is probably the best value tool for homeowners and casual handyman.

Have this tool, paid a lot more and have no regrets.

I can't find the ratchet on the website. But I see the drill, impact driver and jigsaw for $35 (bare tool).

How does Skil compare to Ryobi and Kobalt?

All 3 are generally pretty good.

For this ratchet specifically, it is (IMHO) one of the better ones out there at least in the sense that it can apply a decent amount of manual torque, if you really want to, without having to first break something free with a hand tool. Within reason of course. (I think they say up to 150 ft lb which is a lot for a cordless ratchet.)

But, it is also somewhat bulky and heavy for a ratchet. Honestly if I could only have 1 cordless ratchet I would probably get the Hyper Tough extended reach one from Walmart. You won't want to apply a lot of manual torque to it, but if that's OK with you it is pretty cheap and has great reach and maneuverability. For typical usage of a powered ratchet, reaching into tight areas and spinning things, it is excellent.

Otherwise if you are planning to 'go into a line of tools' and the ratchet would be your first, this Skil would be a good way to do that.
