Got mine from another eBay seller for $200 a week ago. Good build quality and decent specs. But I couldn't get win11 to install many software applications. I am trying out windows after 10 years in the MacOS and Linux ecosystems.

Seems like a really solid computer for the cheap price - why is there not more interest in this?

For those of you considering this laptop, look on ebay, you can find the exact same model and generation with the ryzen 7 pro 5850u for around the same price or cheaper. It was just on sale couple of weeks ago for around the same price and certified refurbished with the 2 year allstate warranty.
I've been using one of these with the intel i5 for the past couple of years as a work issued laptop and it runs great, and has a very premium build quality. The screen is the "weak link" in regards to brightness, but for the price it's a hands down better laptop build for long term wear and tear, then your standard store bought laptop.
Alternatively, I just bought the HP Elitebook 645 G10 with the Ryzen 5 Pro 7530u 16gb/256gb ssd for $260 shipped, ebay certified refurbished very good condition. It was just delivered yesterday in a HP refurbished box, and the laptop looks like it's never been used at all. I ran the battery test and it shows the battery cycle count as 1, and that was likely when I placed it on the charger and charged it and the full charge capacity at 52052 while the design capacity is 51310.

Id exercise some caution with these. I have a g9 and it seems hp is finicky with bios support and they often have squirrely motherboard issues related to how these ryzen chips hibernate. For the price it's worth a stab just something to keep in mind. Google the model ive heard the g8s had the same issues ive got a 6850 pro with 32gb of ram thats effectively a paperweight

Thanks for this info. Could you please let me know the seller bought the version on eBay from?

I've been keeping an eye out for one of these, too. Prycedin is one seller I know of that has been selling these models around this price -- https://www.ebay.com/str/prycedin

$240 at Newegg's eBay store [ebay.com] (it was $228.99 FP deal from Dec 2-3 and Dec 8). You get 1 years Allstate warranty instead of 90 day Newegg warranty (for better or for worse).

Prycedin hides many of their goodies under the category "Others" instead of "Laptops / Notebooks" for some reason, but yeah they have a huge selection and a lot of good deals (though beware that cheaper ones don't have free return shipping)

Lots of HP EliteBook deals lately (search forum for EliteBook), especially the 845 G8 (nice to see AMD sold so many).

Not the 32GB RAM model you spoke so well of.

elietebooks tend to have better build quality however in this case the ProBook will have a slightly faster processor and a touchscreen display that rotates 360 degrees for use like a tablet

I looked at this laptop a few months back and went with the probook x360 as it comes with the better/brighter touchscreen option and gorilla glass. It was $50 more at the time. Its an excellent option... hinges are steong as is the overall build quality....no regrets

I've used both at work. I'd take a g8 elitebook over an x360 if the same generation. I didn't much like the x360 compared to the elitebook. It seemed underpowered in the CPU arena and the smaller size wasn't as functional to me.
