It does not make any sense to save up Discover cashback rewards. The only time it would make sense to get gift cards is when you max out your 5% quarterly bonus. If these deals pop up, have at it. People are consumers who like to spend rather than save or pay off their bills.

AMEX has their rewards program where you get between $5 and $30 just for shopping through their links year round. Sometimes the rewards are even more around the holidays. Capital One has their Capital One Shopping. All better than this deal.

I guess it is a good offer for those who use Discover Card. We have Discover, but don't find value to use it over other points bearing cards.

Has Apple ever been higher than this for Discover? Bought a bunch of Apple GCs with the 20% offer from Citi last month, but don't have any immediate need for it, so may be able to wait for next year.
