I had to go through several agents who said "no" for various reasons until I got one that said no problem. Ended up paying the $480 price, which they would then go on to refund the difference. It seems to be the only way it would work based on others' comments. Fyi, this worked even though the two closest Microcenters are about a 3 hr drive away, and both were OOS. They asked my zip, but it didn't seem to matter anyway.
Decided to purchase from Best Buy due to Amex Offer & Shopping Portal stacking.

I was just at best-bye (buy) and the sales person agreed to match it but then his manager decided she wouldn't do it. She got very rude and told me that wasn't their policy and that she was not going to match it no matter what. I explained her policy and asked her to show me what it said she coups price match it and she couldn't find anything although she kept making up random statements on why she couldn't. When she couldn't show me why it was not their policy she just told me she wouldn't and for me to go to micro center to get it. Very rude little girl and a manager also! This was after the salesperson agreed to the match and started ringing me up. I called the Best Buy customer service number and the agent agreed to the match and said it met policy but when she tried to match it, she said that their system wouldn't let her go that low or even below the current offered $479 sales today. She did say it was valid and she would if she could but the system would not let her price match even though their policy guaranteed it. I finally said bye and that's the end of it, I guess! Not shopping best-try anymore. I've been a very long time gold member but will not be back.

i was able to get past it by placing a non-price-matched order at best buy, then have chat apply the microcenter price to my order as a partial refund credit. when the chat agent asked for my zip code, I gave them a zip code where the nearest microcenter had it in stock and they gave me the credit without bothering to check the delivery address.
Called their phone number and try to buy it that way.. the guy said he couldn't do it either because there are no overrides available to go below their current sale price $479?! What ?!
Sounds like this refund is not automatic and must be approved... so TBD if this actually works out.
