People on this site go wild for gift cards. I can never fathom just holding money in gift cards even if it means I am getting something for $10 cheaper off $50. I need cash at all times (well except when I am investing short term).
Different strokes for different folks.
Yes, holding money in gift cards doesn't earn interest, as opposed to cash in savings account (or even invested).
But if one knows for a certainty that they will make purchases from certain merchants in the near future, it makes sense to purchase discounted gift cards because earning a "guaranteed" ROI of 15%/20% is much better than the guaranteed ROI of savings account or even trying to make that in short term investing.

if purchasing as a gift, makes it perfectly fathomable. where did anyone say they were using this as an investment? its a gift card.

Good discounts on gift cards (10-25%) for yourself beats the interest in all savings accounts options. And for gift giving, you're saving yourself money vs. giving cash.

Well you are in the minority now for 70%+ of consumers do not carry any cash on them.

And it makes perfect "cents" to get 20% off a bill by buying a gift card and using it right away.

Site isn't SlickProfits.
It's Slickdeals as in savings.
20% off a gift card is savings in my book.

That said, I see no value in any of these overpriced restaurants. The last time I went to Red Robin, a burger was $17. That's absolutely ridiculous.

Appears to be dead unless there's some kind of promo code you need to apply.
