You linked the biggest sellout in boot reviews. He gets kickbacks from his reviews. Thursday has him on the payroll. Rose Anvil has been misleading people for years.

If you need wide heirloom boots, goral is pretty good. They use copper staples to bind that sucker together. But you ain't gonna like the price.

A cheaper alternative is Thursdays President/Captain boots. Not quite hierloom, but good enough. Lems boulder if you want waterproof.

It's OK construction, but at 250 a coin flip between it and Thursdays. They use a fiberboard/paper insole.

wow $400 original price and only good for 1,000 miles??? I swear I had a better price to mile ratio with other deals on shoes around the $20-$40 range.

Any recommendations for dressy winter boots?
At a comparable price point, check out Beckett Simonon.

Cuadra, in my book, although some models can certainly cross the line from slick go ostentatious.

That's debatable.
The most common comparison is to the Red Wing Iron Ranger.
Both are made in USA.
But if you can get the Wolverine in your size and style for $100 less then that wins for sure.

Since people haven't mentioned it, check out BLKBRD. Excellent quality at reasonable prices ($200+), handmade in India.

Nicks will make you a pair in FFF width if that's your fit.
Money well spent. My Nicks feel like I was born with them on my feet. And they will probably outlive me.

Thursday boots are terrible. Imma stick to my iron rangers.

I personally like Whites better. And Drews for a less expensive but high quality alternative. I know Nicks are great, I just prefer Whites better, I have five or six pair. But also have a couple of pair of Wolverine and I like them as well, love boots that are unlined.
