I would have bitten for the 2.5Gbps Ethernet w/ PD, but I just got one.

WAVLINK has a bad reputation as an electronics manufacture in the past. Sloppy electronics work and bad design, notably on their WiFi adapters.

Why does slickdeals staff keep pushing crappy, insecure, WAVLINK brand products on us? The more they do it, the more it makes you wonder... Buyer beware. Do some research on the company first.

My MacBook Pro has HDMI but for $15 this is pretty reasonable for a 2.5gb Ethernet adapter all by itself. Also display port, Thunderbolt Display out are all stock on your M-series Macs.
And you can always daisy chain another hub or adapter.

I bought 2 the coupon is still live.

I'm glad this works for you. The idea of a hub/dock is to have all ports going to it so you only have to plug in 1 cord into your Mac. Otherwise, why even bother with a hub/dock when you can simply plug and unplug many cables into your Mac?

Did you read the part about daisy chaining? that still 1 cable if you only need 4k60.
Also USB hub HDMI is only going to do 4k 60 at best, so the higher performance options are all Displayport/Thunderbolt.
