First order from this seller: listed as open-box, unused, unlocked iPhone 16 Pro Max → received a used, scratched, carrier-locked phone. Took almost 2 weeks to get a refund.

Second order: new, unlocked iPhone SE (3rd gen).
What showed up? A brand-new Verizon-locked iPhone 13 😂

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… apparently I like surprises 😂

5G Capable
Runs latest iOS versions
Smaller size that many prefer
Haptic home button with fingerprint sensor
Respectable iPhone 13 processor
Lightning connector for legacy charging cable compatibility
Fully compatible with Fast Charging and wireless charging
I've had this phone for a year and a half and I love it. So much faster and more capable than the one it replaced. Obviously not a $1200 flagship model, but does everything I need.

Can I just use this on Wi-Fi to satisfy Apple Watch requirements?
Or do I have to sign up for Verizon service?

Agree. I have the 256GB variant and bought it from this seller in Jan 23' for $370 and Apple care included! Came with 98% battery health!

Respectable seller indeed.I recently upgraded my SE3 to iOS 26.2. Snappier than iOS 18.XX with 74% battery health.

Do I recommend this phone as a daily driver for everyone heading to 2026? Not really imo unless u wanna be cheap and minimalistic. Not even for $120. It long in the tooth in terms of features and design. 10 year old design with no night mode, no MagSafe, no led screen, no usb c, and the inevitable battery replacement cost $70. Also, poor resale value esp the 64GB. The $13 and 16e for $200 used really put this to shame.

I recommend this as a back up phone. Home button and Touch ID are nice and it ends right there.

My next iPhone upgrade is 12 mini. I'm cheap and I don't follow trends. Recently Bought it brand new for $110. I'm enjoying the 12 mini more than my SE3 lol

I had looked up end of support date when I bought mine and I think it had 2.5-3 years remaining. So it likely is good for another year or more. Just got iOS 26.1 and it's a bit of a refresh on how everything looks. Didn't seem to slow things down at all. Good points you made about feature set, but in this price range it's a very good value for the budget user. Quality of these cheaper Apple phones is head and shoulders above that of cheap Android phones, in general.

The SE is awesome as a daily knock-around or backup, especially if you're mainly an android user but want things like facetime (and a way better user experience in some ways). My Pixel 9a is way too big to be used one handed, and bulky in a pants pocket.

I've read bad things about this seller though.

Speaking from someone who had every iPhone SE and was a die hard Touch ID fan. I thought I would never get rid of it. Until I got an iPhone 12 little over 3 years ago I was shocked at how much better battery life it was. And this summer I got a iPhone 13 Pro and got the battery replaced at apple and I'm just blown away by how the 13 makes the 12 battery feels like the old SE. I basically had to recharge my SE 4 times a day and now I can go all day and maybe get down to 35%. So I would say if it's possible, just keep your eyes peeled for a 13 if you can. Because the 13,14 and 15 virtually have the same cpu in them. It's true the third gen SE is basically a 13 underneath. But the tiny battery and LCD screen instead of the OLED screen makes a huge difference in battery life especially if you use dark mode on the 13. Battery reviews consistently show the 13 gets better battery life than the 14. So that's my two cents. I feel like you could get a 12 or 13 for just a little bit more. And it's not just a tiny bit better but 3-4x better.

the phone is decent, but this is 64gb. I had this phone/capacity for work. every iOS update requires like 15gb+ now and the OS already uses like 23-25gb? I don't remember b/c I got off of this, it was a pain.

I remember getting this for like 50 bucks on a Walmart deal years ago. It was actually a really solid phone.

I have this phone and I love the small form factor, buut 64gb has been a pain, I literally need to delete and reload my apps all the time just to free up some memory for apple updates. Probably good as a back up phone. what I really like is I can take it on hikes and runs and walks and it does not weigh me down... Would like to upgrade to a 13 or 14 or 15, but is there a deal on unlocked NEW phone. I have burnt myself on refurbished due to battery life or fake cheap screens put in, so I only want a new phone... haha

i am still using SE second gen, no issues yet , slows down a bit with some apps and battery drains a bit quickly. However, I am not sure if SE 3 is going to be my next iphone....
prob mini 17, if it comes.

Yes, absolutely. I've done this with old, unactivated iPhones for my kids. The cellular strength indicator just shows "SOS," but everything else works fine.

so you get a better deal, right? iphone SE vs iPhone 13 (even though locked)
Yes, but both orders were not as described.Seller accuracy rate: 0%. Failure rate: 100%.

This one is locked, the -V after the model number means it is locked to Verizon. I ordered an unlocked one last week and received it on Saturday. Here is the new unlocked one https://ebay.us/m/Tgm2f3. It was a Verizon prepaid, but it was never opened and not locked. I guess someone just bought it and traded it in.
You received a Verizon prepaid version but not locked?
