... i understand that but I don't want a dull $10 filet knife to filet my fish. You ever tried to filet with a dull knife?
Yes, I hate dull knifes. But if it's just something I use a dozen times a year, I probably don't want to spend a lot on it. I can always sharpen it.

BTW I'm fishing red and black drum, speckled trout, etc. For me a flexible knife is important to minimize waste and I will often clean 24" redfish, 17" trout, and 26" black drum with a 7" flexible filet knife. Sheepshead in the early spring as well. For me, a 9" is too long.
