Has anyone successfully connected a sub to this? The Connex app can help with high pass filter, but then add a sub (e.g. tapping the right speaker connecter) would also have bass removed. Looking for a good, cheap monitor with a sub out and some semblence of bass control. Alternately I could get a Douk Audio a5 since it has HPF and a variable sub-out (using sub for low-pass filter).
Are the RCA jacks on the back "output". If so, and they are similar to my Edifiers (different model). Use RCAs to this device https://a.co/d/bp3mUpl connect to the sub amp and it should work.

Just get a Y connector if you are using the analog inputs, use the app the set high pass filter, and any sub will have a low pass filter.
If you want to connect a sub, I would just get the 1280DBs for $42 more. Already has the output and cable for the sub, remote, and you are good to go.
If you use line in on the mr3 you will need splitters and will need to control volume at your source, or will be constantly adjusting both the speaker and sub volume independently. Not worth the hassle. If you are getting powered speakers, just get one intended for a sub.

I agree these are not good without a subwoofer and can't easily plug one in. Decent for computers at most or a guest bedroom.

I've been happy with the 1280DBs paired with an older 8" Polk sub for the garage. Plug and play.
