That happens if you don't rinse the brew group every week. It takes less than 5 mins a week to avoid issues and keep this machine working properly. People don't read the instructions then complain.

It just ok compared to Delongi and Ninja.

All the Philip lineup use the exact same inards and use ceremic grinder. The more expensive brands use burr grinder (supposedly last longer and less chances of shattering unlike ceremic).

I owned 2 flavors of these from Costco and returned both and kept the Delongi Evo.

Main thing is u can only get so much out of quality coffee out of any Philips machine. The actual grinds are smaller compared to DeLongi. The water temp on the Philips is just ok....The Delongi has water temp controls so u can program the water temp to max water temp (which means better extraction).

I mean for most people , this machine is ok and it makes good milk based drinks but if u are a black coffee or espresso drinker, consider Delongi. I bought the Delongi during BF at Costco ($499).

The ground coffee pucks on DeLongi is almost 30% bigger than Philips.
burr is a style of grinder, not the material. you can have ceramic burr grinders.

You can also adjust the water temperature of the Philips, the hottest setting improves shot quality a bit. Shots are passable once dialed in, but I'm not a big fan of the steamed milk quality from the LatteGo system.

Yeah, the Delonghi Magnifica models use more grounds and thus produces typically stronger/better shots.

nope, this superauto wins in convenience(less work) and speed(making multiple drinks) though.

If milk frothing is very important to me, should I go with LatteGo, Breville Bambino Plus or Ninja Luxe for a budget of around $500-ish.

I would skim the reviews on Philips support to make sure you understand how bad it is. It is almost non-existent since Philips was acquired by a Chinese private equity firm a couple of years ago or so. There are a few of us that were burned by this company over the years and try to provide feedback whenever a deal on Philips coffee machines come up. I finally got a refund via my credit card company and charge back but only after submitted dozens of pages of documentation/emails because Philips outright lied to the credit card company that they did not receive my unit. Never again buying a product from Philips...

not as good as the deal I got around BF for this, but loving the machine! Using community coffee as the cheap stuff, and lavazza super crema as the better, works good for me!

I'm seeing a lot of misinformation on this post.

There's nothing wrong with flat ceramic burrs. For example, Baratza Vario uses them, not a low end grinder. Obviously, most flat and conical espresso grinding burrs are stainless steel, but that doesn't mean ceramic are bad. Yes, many super cheap portable or cordless hand grinders and peppermills have crap ceramic burrs, but not with brands like Phillips. Phillips went with flat ceramic burrs "because" they last longer, stainless steel burrs do "not" last longer than ceramic burrs. That matters for a superauto because the burrs are not easily replaceable, you want long lasting burrs.

Just my opinion...As far as who owns Phillips I don't think that shouldn't matter. A lot of small appliance brands are owned by conglomerates or investment firms. Phillips and Saeco are now owned by Versuni, which was bought by Hillhouse Capital, a global investment company. I also wouldn't make my decision based on an anecdotal mentions by people that got a lemon. It happens with every brand, including Jura, DeLonghi, Gaggia, etc. I'm guessing that Amazon has sold tens of thousands of the 3200 to happy customers since it's a well established model and has been around for years. Plus, it's shipped and sold by Amazon, so you have 30 days to decide to whether or not it's a keeper, "FREE refund/replacement until Jan 31, 2026". You won't beat the price for what it does.

Ive posted this before ...this is the ground coffee pug on settings of max coffe grind, max water temp and max cup size on a Philips 3200 (fine grind setting, lavazza medium roast espresso beans, and default water temp). This is after 15 cups has been brewed so the machine has "learnt" the grind size.

Delongi also using same grind size, high water temp and same beans and brew settings.

Again, for most people who haven't used higher end machines will NEVER see the taste difference and , for milk based drinks, the Philips does an excellent job. I returned both Philips as I mainly drink black espresso and black coffee so the Delongi was better "tasting" in my experience.

I'm not a pro but the water temp on the Delongi is also much higher than what I could get out of the Philips machine.

What do you consider the right beans?
Dudarino! depends on taste but for me i found certain beans work better in these machines...I mainly use Lavazza. But when i first started and didn't know better, i thought using Starbucks beans would rock...nope...also learned really oily beans end up gunching the whole thing up....

What do you use?

Dark roast is the way to go. Just make sure it's not oily.
Have had this machine for a couple years now, and we use very freshly roasted, dark, oily beans, and it works perfectly. I was worried the oiliness would be an issue, but it hasn't been for me. I also consistently clean the brew group every two weeks and apply lubricant as directed every 6 months or so.Best coffee/espresso machine we've ever owned.

Just received this one yesterday and had got a wonderful expresso on Christmas! A dream came true.
The machine is easy to operate, has bunkers for both grounded and beans, 20-bar pump, self-cleaning, cups preheating functions, sensors-controlled, and the milk frother is a masterpiece. 48 months Philips extended warranty on the brew group (according to the flyer enclosed if still valid). Note the 3200 design is outdated, no longer promoted by Philips. Nevertheless, the unit runs great and looks descent.
Just use good no-flavors-added coffee to get the amazing output.
The price of 4 Benjamines is unbeatable, lower than that of semi-automatic machines.

After seeing the size differential between the pucks, seems like the Delonghi is the way to go if you want stronger coffee.
