I believe this release of Miami Vice from Mill Creek has all the original music intact... which is great, since that's a huge part of the show.

Beware that the Mill Creek releases of Miami Vice on DVD and Blu-ray do not have English closed captioning/subtitles.

The only ones that do are the Universal Studios DVD releases from the 2000s in digipack cases or 2010s in regular cases.

Can confirm all this by looking at eBay listings.

Depends on if it is a Universal set or MillCreek AKA Echo Bridge , Mill Creek doesn't have Closed-Captioning and it sucks.

Also Deep Discount lied to me about a movie Near Dark to make a sale, I asked if it had Closed Captioning/Subtitles on the case cover and they said YES, It does not,

I can't trust them.

The original Universal ones had the original music intact as well. But there were other Universal series that got re-releases from Mill Creek that did not have music intact on the original Universal one, but did on the Mill Creek one.

I don't own this, but from searching, people specifically say the set does have the Evan episode with the original songs intact. It's not available on streaming services because they can't get the streaming video rights to the Peter Gabriel songs used in the episode.

I think Miami Vice is "free" on Hulu or Amazon. Watched the first two seasons after rewatching Heat and Collateral.
I was very impressed. I was expecting something retro like Magnum P.I. - which to be fair, does have its moments. But thinking slightly about it, I think most of those were just Tom Selleck being a likeable, charismatic dude.
After Mann left, just stop watching. The show was already formulaic, but it lacked edge, suspense, etc. post-Mann.
But stay away from the movie adaptation of Miami Vice. I was excited, expecting a better version of the first season. Instead, it was just generic filler.

Yes, it's a true complete series set. I'm aware that one is missing on streaming, but the DVD and Blu-rays have always been truly complete for this show.

I wonder if it's because they can't get them or aren't willing to pay for them. DVD did have some pitfalls, but the distributors were always willing to pay for rights to songs or at least replace them with something generic (not ideal, but at least it was something). Now that we've evolved to streaming, they just pull complete episodes, sometimes ones essential to plot development, without even caring.
