No. You need a plane that's capable of Apple AirPlay.

My toyota has carplay but must be directly connected via cable. Over time, any time the car hits a large bump, my phone disconnects. I am not sure what causes it but it has become so bad that even certain turns causes disconnects.

I went on ali's express to get android version of this. Pricing varies , i think i paid 10 for a smaller connector and doesn't hang loose like that.

The one I have is compact and looks/works like an L shaped flash drive.

same. I think the lightning connector cracked because of the heat inside the car during summer

My guess why this is on sale is because the cable is too long and also disconnects. Unsure how taping the adapter down will fare, but that's for another person to gamble on lol

I've had an Ottocast Mini for six months and it works really well. I paid ~$40 for it new from Ottocast's E-bay account.

Here' a refurb for $12 + $4 S&H [ebay.com].

No it's on sale because it's not a highly desired product. These have been out for a while and technology caught up. Most people that would want one have one. They're cheap to begin with as well.

Any glitches? I tried the Aluratek brand one from Best Buy, and it's been mostly okay, but from time to time, it can't connect to the iPhone or requires unplugging/plugging back in and doesn't connect quickly on each drive.

In the time I've had it, I had one time where it wouldn't connect when I returned to my car. It had been sitting in the hot sun for my entire work shift. I put it in front of the AC vent to cool the metal USB connector down... and then it worked a few minutes later.

Other than that, only two or three times where Car Play wasn't accessible when I started my car. I toggled my phone bluetooth off and back on again. Turned the car off and on again. It then connected. Not sure which of the two was essential to fix it, but...

With such device does iPhone connect to CarPlay as soon as you start car or you have to provide some on screen instruction to connect?

Is your phone unlocked and bluetooth on prior to starting car? I have noticed similar "irregularities" when connecting to my android wireless connector. As long as my device is unlocked with bluetooth when car starts, its solid
