Since I don't think anyone's linked it here is that product for the 5 gallon bucket: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../327405616

Great little vacuum to have around when you're already in the Ryobi battery ecosystem. I've used it in the car, around my work bench and even to clean up the last bit of water in a pool. Love the thing.

This compact Ryobi 18V wet and dry vacuum is best for quick cleanup in cars, on workbenches, and around the house, especially if you already use Ryobi batteries. It is light, portable, and handy for crumbs, sawdust, Sheetrock dust, screws, and small wet pickups, and it can even be flipped into a mini blower. The main limits are modest suction versus corded shop vacs, fast battery drain, and a short nozzle that can force kneeling. The 1 gallon body also will not fit on a standard 5 gallon bucket.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is strong enough for small jobs like car cleanup, workbench dust, sawdust, screws, and general messes, but it is not as powerful as a corded shop vac. It is better suited to crumbs, fine particles, and indoor cleanup than heavy-duty vacuuming.

  • No. The 1-gallon unit is rectangular and its 14.5-inch overall width is wider than a typical 5-gallon bucket top, so it will not sit on a bucket like the separate bucket-lid version. It is a different tool from the 5-gallon bucket-top model.

  • Yes, it is used for wet cleanup such as the last water in a pool, toilet tank water, and other spot-drying jobs. It is especially useful for small wet messes where a full-size corded vac would be inconvenient.

  • Yes. It can chew through a 4Ah battery quickly, so a larger battery is recommended if you want more than a few minutes of runtime. For short cleanup tasks, smaller batteries are more practical.

    wwjrd

  • Yes. Removing the hose and plugging it into the exhaust port turns it into a mini blower for light clearing jobs.

Doesn't look like the 1 gallon version will fit a 5 gallon bucket. The thing is rectangular.

There is a separate version for bucket.

This absolutely does not work with a 5 gallon bucket, that is an entirely different model.

The problem is that the 5 gallon can attach to any normal 5 gallon bucket and is only 64 dollars. You buy this and you only get a 1 gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum.

This isn't the 5' gallon lid model, however, the overall width is 14.5" inches while the top of a 5 gallon bucket is 11" inches diameter.

And the fact this model is only 9" deep, which is smaller than a bucket, dosent matter?

You said it would "absolutely not work" with a 5 gallon bucket, but it will clearly rest on top as long as a person isn't trying to use it like a Dyson stick vac.

You clearly do not understand how these types of vacuums work if you think it would work without a perfect seal on the bucket. Show me a single example of what you are saying this is capable of doing.

The bucket top version doesn't work with filters (bag only) and has less suction power (32 vs 40 IOW). They each have their uses, bucket top better for general debris cleanup, this one is better for wet stuff, fine particles, and indoor use.

Yeah me too. This thing is so awesome. I have a big 5 gallon corded one that I have always used but it's such a hassle getting it out of my closet. This thing is so light weight and does a wonderful job. Haven't tried vacuuming anything wet though.

Yes, that is the bucket-top vacuum. OP is say this 1gal vacuum can do the same thing, which it cant.
